HOW WE WORK

Our nationwide network of independent associates combines science with real-world farm knowledge to deliver the Maximum Farming System. Backed by scientific experts and on-farm support, we help farmers maximize nutrient efficiency for lasting success and profitability.

How You get started

Start by finding your local associate. Your Maximum Farming System associate will assist you through full implementation and provide reallocation support as you make changes in your operation.

Are you passionate helping farmers get the most out of their input dollars?

Soil management

Our soil testing process by Soil Type and Management Zone (ST/MZ)  provides farmers with precise nutrient insights. We understand that variations in soil type are not conveniently bound within congruent squares.

ST/MZ targets scientifically selected regions based on natural soil variations, allowing our representatives to make valuable recommendations for phosphorus and potassium rates, herbicide selection, hybrid placement, seeding, nitrogen timing, gypsum, and lime applications.

Samples are collected using specialized tools and GIS mapping, then analyzed by Midwest Laboratories for consistent, reliable results. Rapid turnaround means you have the data you need for critical decisions. For best outcomes, repeat testing every 2-3 years.

ST/MZ includes:

  • Soil sample lab results

  • Full-color ST/MZ maps, depicting zone boundaries and soil types, with percentage of each soil type

  • 8 nutrient maps showing levels of organic matter, pH, CEC, potassium (K), calcium (Ca), phosphorous (P), magnesium (Mg), and sodium (Na)

  • Lime, P, and K recommendations with estimated cost breakdown

Maximum Farming Recommendations

Ag Spectrum makes data interpretation easy. Soil test data is instantly integrated into our Maximum Farming Recommendations. These recommendations include Ag Spectrum products, along with other fertility and soil amendments, that work together to allow Ag Spectrum associates to help farmers improve their production.

The modeling used in the System is based on an understanding of optimum requirements for the farmer’s crop. The recommendations don’t just “treat the crop” – they treat the soil – bringing it to optimum levels to enable life in the soil and crops to thrive.

SERVICE CHECKS

Your associate will provide year-round guidance and support by joining you in the field for five Service Checks throughout the season.

Pre-planting visit

Is the planter ready to go? What is the  logistics plan for tendering?

Early Establishment

Check plant roots and establishment. Prepare for foliar applications.

Rapid Vegetative Growth

Analyze plant health/root growth. Are there any signs of disease or pests?

Reproduction and crop completion

Set yield expectations. Make a plan to supply yield data for Maximum Farming Report.

Annual planning meeting

Review Maximum Farming Report to make educated crop plan for next season.

Maximum Farming Report

The Maximum Farming Report helps System farmers evaluate production choices and plan for next season. Using layers of GPS data, it provides insights at no extra cost for customers using 100% of the Maximum Farming System. Over multiple years, it tracks trends to improve decisions.

This report shows how soil nutrients, seed selection, planting populations, and soil types impact yield. It breaks down performance by variety, planting date, nutrient availability, and application criteria - helping growers choose hybrids and manage nutrition programs with precision. With virtually limitless data combinations, the report is an invaluable tool for improving soils and maximizing yield.

Mission

To make available to growers research-proven technologies that allow them to produce crops in the most cost-efficient manner possible.

VISION

Ag Spectrum is dedicated to understanding the basic truths of science, investing in ongoing agronomic research, and providing leadership and education direct to the grower to inspire progress in American agriculture.  Progress in agriculture is achieved by maximizing returns on every investment, where no nutrient, no pest management product, no water, and no effort goes to waste.  We believe in educating growers with a complete systems approach because we have the opportunity and responsibility to leave things better than we found them.

VALUES

The foundation of Ag Spectrum’s approach is rooted in basic science and research. The fundamental beliefs are based upon proven science that depict how a plant grows, the stresses it encounters, and ways to maximize energy production in the plant and beyond.  Ag Spectrum invests in ongoing, non-biased, fundamental research that advances science to benefit agriculture.  These researchers are an extension of the Ag Spectrum network.
